ComicKart is an endeavor to build a platform to primarily cater to backissue comics from India & foreign countries. We will try to provide rare & quality comics at a reasonable price.Comics can be collected for various reasons such as reading, as a hobby (collection), as an art form (Comics with cool covers or key issues can be framed & displayed) and more importantly now it can be an avenue for alternate investment (Key issues).
Comics are now fast emerging as an alternate investment form in India. Abroad, especially US -- comics trading is an established industry. Currently, Comics are affordable to most classes of people, though many key issues are not so cheap any more (Foreign as well as Indian). But still a good amount of quality comics are affordable.
Old Foreign comics which are sought after are DC, Marvel, Harvey, Goldkey, , Charlton, Dell, Asterix, Tintin, etc. Old Indian comics are sought after both in English, Hindi & other regional languages. Some of the popular comics are Indrajal, Amar Chitra Katha, Tinkle, Diamond, Dolton, Star, Spectrum, Sun, Kiran, Gotham, Raj, Manoj, etc. Superhero movies & Comicon expos are spreading more awareness about the medium.
Even people who have not read comics are now more aware about Superhero characters than they were before. Comic book content is being used to make Superhero movies, Cartoon series & T.V serials. Lots of merchandise like clothes, toys, utilities are using these characters.
ComicKart will initially only Sell back issue comics. Future plans include Comics related art, toys & memorabilia, old magazines, books, etc. Hope, you find your backissues @ ComicKart to fill the holes in your collection or to just hang it on the wall as a piece of art or as an alternate investment, 'Nuff said.
